Year-in-Review: A Remarkable 2023 in Avalon Park Orlando

Greetings Avalon Park residents and friends! As we bid farewell to 2023, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the incredible year we have had together. It’s been a year of growth, collaboration, and community spirit that has truly made Avalon Park Orlando #BetterTogether.

Avalon Park welcomed a host of new businesses that have added vibrancy to our community. From the refreshing juices at The Juiice Box and the expert tax assistance at Nona Tax to the fitness excitement at F45 Training and the delightful flavors of Cafe Coqui, our community has been buzzing with activity. WeBuild, Resto Urban Kitchen, The Bakery, and more have become integral parts of our daily lives, contributing to the flourishing local economy. And I am very much looking forward to the addition of the East Orlando Gym to our community this December.

Our community’s event calendar was nothing short of spectacular! From the lively Absolutely Avalon festivals that brought neighbors together to the record-breaking attendance at the Turkey Trot, Avalon Park truly knows how to celebrate. Beyond our borders, impactful community partnership events such as the Lupus Foundation Walk, Arthritis Walk, and Lights On for Children in November showcased our commitment to making a positive impact beyond our streets.

The heart of Avalon Park beats strongest when our community comes together. The reactivation of the Community Garden has been a testament to this spirit, with new plants flourishing and raised beds on the horizon. The Avalon Park Arts & Culture Center has been a hub of creativity, offering classes, workshops, and exhibits. Collaborations with organizations like the Orange County Arts League and Pinecrest Academy Black History Month Feature, as well as the impactful Donate Life Zora Neal Hurston Exhibit, have brought culture and artistic expression to the forefront.
