On the 4th of July, we will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. What a success story.
There is a lot we Americans can be proud of. No other nation, not even the Roman or British Empire, has had more global influence and reach than the United States of America.
The USA is the only military power with the ability to intervene at anytime, anywhere in the world. Probably even more powerful is the U.S. dollar, as no nation can afford to be excluded from our currency.
A couple of weeks ago, I was in Switzerland and also in Berlin, Germany. These days, it is sometimes not always “easy” to explain and defend the global actions of the United States in the world.
People who know me are aware that I think long-term. When you are in the business of building entire towns from scratch, you need to think in decades, not in quarters like Wall Street.
I explain to my global family, friends and business partners that one should not judge the USA in the short term. There is no question at all that America has done more good for the rest of the world than any other superpower ever has. Who knows where the world would be today if the United States had not intervened, and through sacrifice and the loss of many lives, helped win World War II for the free world.
Afterward, U.S. initiatives like the Marshall Plan in Europe, along with access to the U.S. market for the rest of the world, made it possible for nations like China and India to succeed. Despite political turbulence, global trade volumes reached an all-time high in 2025.
While America celebrates its 250th anniversary, Avalon Park Orlando is proud to celebrate the 25th anniversary of our 4th of July festival with fireworks.
Avalon Park was built in just a bit more than a quarter century, from 100 cows to more than 50,000 residents, hundreds of businesses, schools with more than 10,000 student stations and more in the “bubble,” the three-mile radius around Downtown Avalon Park.
Only in America!
I wish you a wonderful 4th of July.
God Bless America.
